They compare stacks, hunt the rarer burns, and negotiate prices in trade windows — a market built entirely on what other collectors think it's worth.

01 — A failed cook

Burnt food is what happens when cooking goes wrong. General stores offer zero coins for it. It cannot be listed on the Grand Exchange. Most players have little reason to keep it.

2013 — A collector starts documenting the journey

A RuneScape collector opened a public progress journal in May 2013, recording purchases and the goal of assembling ten million burnt-food items.

2014 — One billion GP in a reported trade

That journal records a purchase of 1.6 million burnt sharks for 625 GP each in February 2014. The total is 1 billion GP. The collector later reported reaching ten million burnt-food items in November 2014.
